Listen to the tips:

1. How often should I clean my jewelry?

It's recommended to wipe down your jewelry with a soft, slightly damp cloth after each wear to remove any lotions or residues. For a deeper clean, you can use a jewelry cleaner or a solution of Windex and a soft-bristled toothbrush. Professionally cleaning your jewelry at least once a year is also recommended.

2. What should I avoid contact with when wearing jewelry?

Avoid contact with chlorine, salt water, sunscreen, lotions, and harsh chemicals. These can damage and discolor metals and erode the finish of gemstones. It's best to remove jewelry before swimming, showering, or engaging in activities that expose it to these substances.

3. Can I wear my jewelry during physical activities?

It's generally advisable to remove jewelry during workouts or manual labor. Rings and bracelets can get caught or damaged, and even necklaces and earrings can pose a risk if they are not secure.

4. What's the best way to store my jewelry?

Store your jewelry in a clean, dry, and temperature-controlled environment, ideally in a fabric-lined jewelry box with compartments or individual pouches to prevent scratching and tangling. Avoid storing jewelry near heaters, air conditioning units, or humidifiers.

5. Why is it important to keep jewelry separated?

Keeping jewelry separated, especially necklaces and earrings, can prevent scratching, tangling, and knotting. This is particularly important for delicate chains and pieces with gemstones.

6. Are there any specific storage tips for necklaces?

Necklaces are best stored by hanging them to prevent tangling and kinking. There are special jewelry organizers with necklace hangers that can help keep your chains organized and damage-free.

7. When is the best time to take my jewelry for professional cleaning?

While regular at-home cleaning is important, it's recommended to have your jewelry professionally cleaned at least once a year. Consider scheduling a cleaning after periods of heavy wear, such as summertime or after a beach vacation.

8. Where can I find a reputable jeweler for cleaning and repairs?
